Laurus Transaction Advisors (Laurus), a preeminent boutique financial due-diligence and CFO advisory firm, completed 93 due diligence engagements and another 8 CFO advisory projects in 2016. The total enterprise value of deals for which Laurus was the financial due diligence advisor exceeded $4 billion in 2016, with an average deal size of more than $42 million. Laurus has now surpassed the mark of more than 600 buy-side and sell-side due diligence engagements completed for private equity groups and companies located through out the U.S. since the firm was founded in 2008.

Laurus continues to see an increase in the use of sell-side due diligence by both private equity backed and entrepreneur owned businesses.

“Whereas sell-side due diligence used to be reserved for specific circumstances, it has quickly become the standard and in many cases a requirement of investment bankers prior to bringing a business to market.  Both sellers and their investment banking advisors are looking for greater assurances and better preparedness by company management around financial information ahead of being scrutinized by potential buyers.” said Patrick Martin, co-founder of Laurus Transaction Advisors.
